Be sure to check local code for the appropriate number of vents per foundation.
Note:
To be eligible for flood insurance through FEMA’s
National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), homes must
have flood damage mitigation features. In flood plain
areas, perimeter foundations are allowed as long as
they are equipped with flood vents, which allow floodwater
to freely enter and exit a foundation space keeping
a balanced water level on each side of the foundation
wall. This measure mitigates flood damage by reducing
hydrostatic pressure on foundation walls.

The Cooke-Bucko Galvanized Vent comes with engineering certification of 98 square inches of effective open area and is a resonably priced improvement over the Mumford Design.
